LXVII Help
Using the Paper Tape Panel
The paper tape preferences panel lets you customize the appearance and behavior of the Paper Tape display by letting you vary the font family, the text color and the background color of the panel. In addition, it also lets you change the ways the numbers are formatted using the following options:
Use tab-delimited output mode - Normally, only one number is printed per line. When this option is set, numbers are all printed on one line, with a tab character separating them, until a SPACE is printed. This allows you to perform calculations using LXVII and then cut and paste them into a spreadsheet program using tab-delimited mode.
Default to last print mode - This option saves the display option and the print-mode setting on the paper tape between times that the paper tape is used. If this option is not set, the paper tape mode is reset to the defaults when a new paper tape is created.
The paper tape panel now contains a new print-mode selector that let's you specify 3 different options for automatically printing to the paper tape. The options attempt to emulate the automatic print options of the HP-97 desk calculator. The options let you set the following behaviors:
None - No automatic printing occurs. Printing only occurs when you use one of the print operations
Auto - The number in the display is printed whenever a keyboard operation completes, except for inputting numbers.
Trace - Like Auto mode but used for running programs. This mode prints the number in the display, the operation that just completed and the program step of the completed operation.
Note that Auto and Trace modes automatically disable tab-delimited output mode.
