LXVII Help
An Introduction to LXVII
LXVII simulates the HP-67 calculator, but itβs not a true emulator, that is, it does not work identically to the physical device.
LXVII operates similarly enough to the HP-67 that if you are familiar with one, you should have no problem operating the other.
If you are not familiar with either, the original manual for the HP-67, formatted for web-browsers, is available on hpcalc.org . The β Getting Started β chapter is an excellent tutorial, and works almost identically for LXVII, with these notable differences.
Differences:
Extended number range - The HP-67 number range is -1E-100 to 1E100 with 10 digit precision. LXVII numbers range from -1E-329 to 1E329 with 15 digits of precision.
Extended precision display - LXVII can display up to 14 digits of precision. The extra display settings are accessed via the View->Display menu.
Register Display - LXVII has a live display of the stack and memory registers accessible through the View->Show Registers menu
Paper Tape - LXVII has a simulated paper tape display which can generate output which can be imported into spreadsheet programs.
Multiple calculators - More than one copy of LXVII can be active at once, with each copy associated with a different document file
On LXVII, the indexed display function ranges from 0 to 14, not 0 to 9.
Magnetic cards for storing and reading back programs and data are emulated with files.
LXVII does not come with a power adapter and batteries. π
